This morning's class was really difficult for me - I am pretty sick and it was really hard to focus but when you're working in a team project I feel like you have to really be on your death bed to not attend.
Anyway, it was kinda slightly productive, Hannah and I shared our findings since last class which was mainly just discussions we'd had with working mums. What these finding revealed was that our suspicions were wrong and that most working mums we spoke to enjoyed driving and didn't find it all that stressful. This meant we had to think of how we could re-frame our concept to fit the brief.
We completed the Point of View Statement exercise and came up with:
Working mothers who lead extremely busy lives, always putting others before themselves, need a way to put themselves first and relieve some of their daily stresses, because surprisingly, the time spent driving may be their only chance to have some alone time and the opportunity to relax.
We then discussed this with Lee who was happy for us to reframe our approach as driving stress was the initial point that all of this has come from. Researching into it and a specific group has revealed this surprising fact and it is still ok for us to follow this path.
The next exercise was to draft up how we might visualise this brief so we drew up some little thumbnails:
Hannah and I split jobs so that she is going to work on the illustrations for our visual brief whilst I work on more of the words, we can then bring these together and format it into a visual document together.
